I'm writing this review with a heavy heart, as the name of the property, Living Like Larry, holds sentimental value to us. My dad's name is Larry, we chose this place thinking it would be a fitting tribute to his memory.
The location is secluded and quiet, but the few issues are concerning. We faced issues with the security code, not working, no keys in the lockbox. Once inside, we were hit with a strong urine odor throughout the house.
The kitchen was left with dishes having a greasy film on them. We had to wash them before using them. The room with bunk beds had writing on the ceiling that read "I am still here", which is unsettling for a child. We also found small items on the floor in one of the other bedrooms, including what appeared to be pills (which turned out to be tiny magnets).
The fridge had an ice maker and water dispenser that didn't work properly. The pet hair covering the beds, and the shed had a bike in need of repair. Air fresheners under the toilet to try and cover the smell in the home.
Communication with the host is a joke. We brought up our concerns, We were offered to have someone come and address the issues, but we didn't hear back until the next evening. By that time, we were out to dinner and continued to discuss our issues into the evening.
It's clear that the owners are not aware of the property's condition or have not taken steps to address its needs. The handful of fixes required would be simple if given attention and time.
