We absolutely loved our stay on the river in this cabin, with the hot tub 20 ft from the river and the fire pit right on the river's edge. It is rustic outside, but comfortable inside, especially the king-sized bed. The reason for our visit to Bryson City was to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and we had the added benefit of waving to the train as it passed by 4 times a day. We had a few challenges, in that there are no accommodations like grab bars in either bathroom. The stairs are sturdy to get up to the cabin, but there's a big step from the ground to the first platform, and nothing easy to grab onto. For many, it isn't a problem, I'm sure, but some consideration needs to be given with those who have a few limitations. We'd stay again, just for the location, but it's good to have the potential problems known when making a choice.
