overpowering SMELL of CIGARETTE SMOKE

Check in was fine, location great, BUT the stay was soured by THE WALL OF STALE CIGARETTE SMOKE THAT SLAMS you EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE DOOR. The fact that the flat has NO OPERABLE WINDOWS OR A/C made matters worse because I COULD Not GET AWAY FROM THE SMELL, but took it home in all my clothes and suitcases. I was not able to hang out there at all, crept in only to sleep. If you smoke, this is a dream come true, despite the huge deal about non-smoking building. If you don't smoke, stay away. Huge disappointment and no refund.

At first the communications and check-in were a bit confusing/contradictory by email but in the end the check-in was easy. The property is a little bit aged and some of the floorboards were a bit broken but overall the room was lovely and the kitchen was well-equipped. The location was lovely near University of Bristol and it was 25 mins' walk from the train station / 10 mins from central Bristol.

Disappointing

Good location, handy for the university, and reasonable price. Unfortunately quite dirty, including dirty crockery and frying pan and splash mark (looked like vomit stain) at the bottom of bathroom door. Also, very limited kitchen equipment, no tray of any sort for oven, had to improvise one with tin foil

Do not recommend

The property was dirty on arrival, with stains on the toilet and tiles and a strong tobacco smell. The alternative unit offered was just as unclean. We had to clean it ourselves, which is unacceptable for a professionally managed rental. Poor quality control—would nnot recommend.

Fabulous

Had everything we needed for our trip. Location is great, and was walking distance from everywhere we needed to be. The apartment was clean and tidy, comfortable bed and fab kitchen facilities. Will definitely stay again!

First week in Bristol

I came here to work with colleagues at the University. The property was right next to the University and took me less than 10 min to get to work. There are tons of restaurants and shops in a few blocks of the site. The room was on the first floor facing a busy street but was set off enough to be relative quiet. The room had character and a good radiator system that was adjustable. Kitchen area and bathroom were small but functional. There were a few minor amenities that I suggested to add to make it more functional ( example: towel rack or hooks in bathroom. Salt and pepper for kitchen) but they were minor. There is no seating area besides the table chairs if that is an issue for you but not a big deal for me. I used the laundry ( has both washer and dryer) in basement and they worked well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone or a couple looking to be close to the University.

Highly recommend

Property was very nice for what we needed it for. The location is the strongest plus as convenient to the station and very central. Very spacious inside and check in information provided was easy to follow. Only downside of the property is the bathroom door was quite sticky so not advisable if staying with children/vulnerable people.

Excellent location, few niggles

Bright, beautifully decorated room very close to the Uni, hospital and city centre. Communication with the host was excellent. The cooking facilities are good. The studio was good value for money. Some niggles included:- 1 hand towel and one tiny bottle of shower gel between 2 of us, for 3 days. Heating came on at set times only and there was no way to boost it in the extremely cold weather. The blinds do not open as the pulleys are broken, it was very dark when the light was off. The bed is not a full double, so a squeeze if you or your partner are on the large side. The ironing board was bent and had to be held up manually in order to use it. All these things are fixable and some are understandable in what appears to be a very regularly used studio. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would do so again but bring towels and toiletries.
