The 2-3 staff members are good and deserve praise for running the hotel in its rundown condition. The hotel website gives the impression that it has recently been renovated with indoor pool, spa, and gym. None of that exists. We stayed in this hotel 5 years ago and it was clean and pristine. We were told then that it was to be renovated. The website and Expedia description are misleading at best and realistically lying. Some examples include black mold in the bathroom tub, imitation wood flooring that is water damaged and curled at the edges that caused us to trip, dust everywhere, filth around the headboard, windows with baked on calcium deposits, weeds all around the property, filthy hallways. The final straw that broke the camel’s back was smell of sulfur coming from the bathroom drains on two separate nights that made us leave the room and use masks. We were told that this is due to a faulty sewage system that dumps treated sewage into the ocean due to incomplete work by the city. It apparently affects many buildings in the area. To make things worse, Expedia was worthless in their attempts to contact the hotel management for a refund. Expedia offered me $30 for my troubles which I find insulting! I can’t believe Expedia can’t come up with the refund regardless of what the fine print says. Why should I use your services? Let me know if you need pictures
