Girl's Trip
Myself, my sister and a high school friend reunited and had a wonderful tine on the west coast. We had a fabulous time staying at the Pelican House! Proximity to beach was superb. Everthing we needed for our stay was right at our finger tips. The home was very clean, and beds were comfy. Just a couple of cob webs hanging around in areas usually missed by routine house keeping. We would absolutely stay at Pelican House in Bodega Bay, again, when visiting!

Nice location but neglected property
Nice location, with beautiful sun-lit living room, but otherwise underwhelming for the price. This property is not managed by the owner, but instead, VACASA, a management company. Seems like the place is suffering from neglect. Downstairs bedroom bed broke when my (petite) sister-in-law first sat on it. Seems like the slats were not the right size (I have picture to share if relevant). Front two elements on electric stove do not work. Hood vent did not work in kitchen, so fire alarm went off. Rack wheel broken on top dishwasher rack, so difficult to move. Only one rack in oven: should have at least two, and I needed a second one. Rods missing from several venetian blinds in living, so can't close when sun is streaming in. Significant water damage in upstairs bathroom: plywood panelling warped and broken (also have picture to share).

Pelican House was great!
Quiet, relaxing, clean property with extremely close access to Salmon Creek State Beach. Plenty of room for a family of up to 6 to stay & sleep comfortably if needed. My husband & I came here for a getaway weekend and it was exactly what we got. Close to HWY 1 for drives along the coast and exploring the area. Would stay again! Thank you!

Few comments
We enjoyed staying at the place but there are few things can be improved: Entry lock set is not easy to use. Under cabinet lights were not working at all. There was a power outage but we couldn’t find any flash lights nor matches. We could have used a wine bottle opener.

Sorry to rain on your parade
Major problems with unsafe upper deck is a lawsuit in the making. Leaky sink faucet. Crack pipe in the bathroom. Tiny kitchen.Fireplace needs cleaning spewing ash all over. Couldn't get in the front and only door. Repairs needed around shower with mold and rot. Wont be staying there again. Other then that, it was great

Relaxing getaway
Staying in a rustic, remote neighborhood by the beach was a perfect way to unwind and spend time with my family. It’s about 20 minutes for shopping and restaurants though a walk from the house for walks on the beach. We hiked Goat trail-about 20 minute drive on the coast, went horseback riding (outside Bodega Bay) and spent a day on the Russian River. The house was well equipped with comfortable beds and hang out area with pool table. It was a little cold when we first arrived though the central heat works. We used the wood burning stove for the rustic feel-works well to heat the house.

A Great Stay
Stayed here for our annual fishing trip on the New Sea Angler. Very impressed, great location near the beach and a very short drive to the harbor. Super clean, comfortable beds and well appointed. Some earlier reviews referenced issues, we experienced none. A great Stay!

Salmon Creek Beach and Dunes
Lovely cottage just behind the dunes. More than enough space and cozy accommodations. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly! Feedback for owners - only 1 of the 4 burners working on the stove (the smallest of course), plus would have been nice to beach chairs and an umbrella. Downstairs bed broken/sags on near door side.

Nice property and location. Needs some TLC and better cleaning. Downstairs toilet had dust bunny buildup below blue tape line and above it (not sure why tape line was there). Blinds were pretty bad too. Handrails on interior stairwell were very dirty--if you are going to have white hand rails they need to be clean. I wiped them down, it doesn't take much to maintain them. On the maintenance TLC: front door keyway spins freely and doesn't retract deadbolt, it needs to be pushed in to some catch point before turning the handle disengages the deadbolt. Not sure if this is a design flaw or it needs some attention. Kitchen sink faucet needs an adjustment/new washers. If it is not put in an exact location it leaks--problematic because it is not the normal all the way down position. Dining room chairs: 1 is missing a bottom dowel and comes loose if you lift it from the top so it's not dragging on the floor when you pull it out. Another needs the dowels glued, I had to push it all back together before sitting on it. Pool table is a nice addition it needs a new brush (yes I brushed it before playing, it needed it) and the ball return needs to be adjusted, since the balls get stuck in the table

We really wanted to like this place. It's in a good location with a short walk to the beach and could be really great but there are some issues the need some serious attention. The leach field in the front yard leaking sewage really needs to be addressed. It smells terrible. There is mold on the blinds in the bedrooms and the downstairs bathroom. Even the glass on the picture frame in the hallway downstairs is moldy. The shower head in the upstairs bathroom sprays water over the shower door and onto the wood paneled wall, which explains the water damage on the wall. The valves in both of the showers are reversed so hot is cold, cold is hot. You can't run the washing machine and the furnace at the same time because there is only one functioning outlet in the furnace/laundry room. The kitchen is really small and odd shaped. You can't open the refrigerator or the oven door completely which makes using either of them difficult. You have to fuss with the kitchen faucet a bit to get it to shut off completely. The propane was almost out so we tried calling the Guest Services number left on the Welcome brochure but it didn't work. Really just feels like lack of care. It could be a great place to stay if the owners put some care and maintenance into it but we probably wouldn't stay here again.
