Very dirty house - but good location
We enjoyed the location of this home, but have to say that I have never stayed in a dirtier vacation house in my entire life. The floors were sticky and if you walked around in your bare feet your feet would turn black from the dirt and grime. So needless to say we wore our shoes the whole time. The carpet was equally disgusting and looked like it had been vaccumed in a looooong time. Additionally, there was garbage scattered around the house from the previous visitors. We will not be staying in this property again.

Birthday Stay
We often stay in Sunriver over our daughter’s birthday with some of her friends. Sunriver is a perfect place for them to jump on their bikes and head out on their own. The house was very comfortable for the six of us plus the dog. We only had to rent one bike since two were provided with the rental. We enjoyed the location and the hot tub.

I have issues with dirty hotels and vacation rentals. I always come ready with lysol wipes. I inspected the house immediately upon entry. I found the house to be very clean. I read a terribly mean review about dog hair and I feared dog hair being everywhere. It is a pet friendly home. I found literally 1 dog hair. The towels were very soft and of very good quality. The house is a bit older, but it had obviously been well maintained. The only complaints I had for this home were quite minor: 1. The kitchen needs a new pitcher, new ice cream scoop, more cereal spoons and a vegetable knife. 2. Some outlets must be internally loose because not all outlets would consistently maintain electrical currents. That is it, I was overall quite pleased.

Nice house overall.
I'm probably judging this house too harshly but we have been going to the same house for close to 7 years but it recently sold and we are having to find a "new to us" Sunriver vacation home. 8 Tamarack was a decent house overall but I was left wanting more. It was not as clean as I would have hoped for, or what I expect. There was A LOT of pet hair on the furniture. We had a lot of allergies happen in the 4 days we stayed here...even though we are dog owners, so it wasn't super clean. It was a looooong bike ride (15-20 minutes) to the village but we managed. It is a short bike ride (5-7 minutes) to the north store and the tennis courts by the north store, so that was a bonus. I appreciated the big dog crate and we used it for our dog the whole time we were there; especially on those long bike rides. I liked the quiet neighborhood but it was just too far away from the village for our liking. The beds were comfortable but I did see a lot of pet hair, which was a bummer. If you are not a clean freak, and if you are not bothered by pet hair on furniture or your bedding...if you are not bothered by a very long trek (up and down many hills) to get to the village, and you are not bothered by a "meh" interior then this may be the house for you. It is pretty dated inside but overall OK. This house is lacking the "IT" factor or any "WOW" details besides the gas fireplace and some cool beams and vaulted ceilings. All the couch pillows need updating. The towels were rough as sand paper. It was not advertised that there were beach towels in the cabinet over the dryer for the pool/hot tub so I did laundry and no one wants to do THAT on vacation. There was not one brochure/menu of the restaurants in the village which I was missing from having that in our previous house. We plan to keep looking. It was close but not "The ONE" yet. We still had fun!

Basic house that met the needs
This house met our family of 5 + 2 dogs' needs. Given we spent our time skiing, we didn't need to be at the house very much. A few things to note: The beds were not super comfortable, and the loft gets quite warm when the main floor was comfortable. And the main floor shower did not drain well.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and cozy! The location was great, too. The trails were easily accessible and it was a nice walk to Fort Rock park and the Deschutes River. We would definitely stay here again.

Great property would stay again.
Overall great property, superb location. Always love visiting Sunriver and this stay was also memorable. Very well equipped and clean place. The hot tub was excellent! Love the location as it gave us the privacy we wanted. The only notable area for improvement should be internet. Speeds were very slow and we are not able to watch shows on our connected devices. Netflix show would buffer every few minutes. Thankfully we did not have to rely on the connection to do any work so this was minor issue. However, this should be considered by anyone who is eyeing this property and does need reliable connection.

Good dog friendly property
If you are sensitive to fragrance bring your own laundry & dish soap. Modest cabin but a worked well for our 4 young children & golden retriever. The carpets could be cleaned. The beds were quite comfortable. The bunk beds & hot tub were a hit with my family. The large dining table is great for games.

Great Dog Friendly House!
The house was perfect for our family. 2 kids, my dad and our pup. We had plenty of room to spread out, the house was very nicely maintained, all the furniture is comfy and so are the beds. The back deck is large and right on a bike path. And it was so nice to be able to bring our dog. He’s in training to be a working dog and goes everywhere we go and it can be hard to find a nice dog friendly house. This one was perfect! We’ll definitely look at this house next time we come to Sunriver.

Sunriver get-a-away
Very comfortable home, located right in the heart of all the fun. Easy access to North Store, and Hwy 97 for day trips to all areas of Central Oregon. I thought bikes were listed as available when we first booked, but found out none were available at the house, so had an additional cost to rent for the week. Not a big issue, but something to know if a group of people plan on doing a lot of biking. Thanks for the very enjoyable stay.
