The positives: The property manager communicated well and the lake is beautiful with a sandy bottom. The outside deck is large. The house is stocked with towels, spices, etc.
The negatives: The house is very outdated, minus the bedroom/partial bathroom redone/painted on first floor. The furniture in living room is old and musty/mismatched and very outdated curtains, etc. The fireplace was all dusty and old. The house, in my opinion, smelled musty. The silverware is ancient and tarnished. We felt it was needed to be stainless steel and purchased plastic wear. The upper part has twisty stairs that is difficult, except for children. I'm not sure how they claim it to be 3 bedrooms. It is almost like a loft they divided with dividers, and only one has a door that shuts. The pictures are deceiving about size of rooms upstairs, and the queen bed "room" has a divider. The carpet and decor upstairs is very, very dated. They also left soap bars in all the showers/baths that had hair on them. We thought that was not sanitary and gross.
It was 8/8 people's opinion that having old family photos, family books, and family diplomas, etc all over the walls is not appropriate when you are renting your property out. I've rented numerous houses and none have had anything like that. Most have an owners closet that they take their personal stuff out when they use the home and lock it back when they rent.
I think the house has a lot of potential if they make some much needed updates.
