Location: This was the best part of the cabin. It is a 5 minute walk to ski, and makes it easy to come and go.
Cleanliness: The bathrooms and sheets were clean, but the whole cabin needs a deep clean. Cobwebs and dust bunnies. There were leftover chips and goldfish in the living room on the coffee table.
Issues: When we arrived there was a sign on the fireplace that let us know that it was out of order and that it needed to be inspected before use. On a cold weekend, this was something we were all looking forward to. The next day we were notified that the upstairs fireplace actually did work, but we missed out on the first night.
Next was the hot tub. We opened it upon arrival and it was green and smelled absolutely disgusting. I notified the owner and they sent someone promptly. Maintenance said it needed to be drained. He came the next day, drained and refilled it, and let us know it would be ready in 3 hours. By midnight day 2, it was not warmer than 60°. This was especially disappointing to our teenagers that didn’t ski, and were looking forward to it.
Overall experience: When you go on vacation, even to a rustic ski cabin, you expect things to be in working order and decently clean, esp. when paying premium $ for a peak ski wknd. They did let us know that we’d be refunded for the hot tub but didn’t specify amount. We have not seen that come through and it’s been a week. Overall it was an underwhelming experience and place to stay and we will probably not stay here again
