“We originally booked a 1 bedroom but the night before we got there we were told that wasn’t available and we were being given a different unit. I felt uncomfortable with that at such late notice but the house we were given was much larger and grander. The location was perfect for our stay and travels. The owner was kind and helpful. They have a family farm and were working a lot so we appreciated his time. The views are pretty and it was very peaceful.”

“There is not much going on in Fermoy, but it is possible to drive to some major attractions such as the national park if you don’t mind a bit of a drive. The house is very tastefully decorated and well equipped, but it is very small and the beds are listed as queens. If you are coming from America, please note this means full. Not a lot of room for suitcases, but the listing clearly stated how small it was. Overall acute little place, but not really in a destination spot.”

“We just enjoyed an incredible stay at Mews #6, while a large group of relatives rented four of the newer lodges on the Castlemartyr property. For ten nights we enjoyed cozy digs while being in very close proximity to the rest of the family. Although in need of a few repairs, the cottage suited us well, providing comfort and charm. The booklet emphasised the wooden floors (several times) as also he did (several times) which was a tad OTT (or maybe just tor us standoffish Brits). “It's a nice little cottage and host/property manager were quite nice as well. We were there 5 days, and enjoyed our stay there a lot. It's a bit far from the sights and from a grocery store (minimum 30 min. drive, IIRC) so plan for that. Also, no wi-fi that we were able to figure out (we just watched stuff we had already downloaded, using an HDMI cable), but there was a television and laundry facilities, so that was great.”
