I believe we were the 1st renters of this property. The layout of the house was great for our family. It was super clean, well appointed, kitchen had plenty of storage, and the beds were comfortable. There were some issues with the property though.
The locks need an upgrade. We were able to access the property via a keypad door lock. That was the only lock on the front door so anyone with access to the keycode could unlock the door. It would have felt safer with an interior latch of some sort. In the bunk room, there is an exterior door. The door handle for this door was inoperable and would turn even if in the locked position. There was a bolt lock affixed to the top of the door but that looked as if it had been damage and repaired before our arrival. This is the room my children were sleeping in and it did not seem safe.
Part of the safety concern was the surrounding areas. While the mailbox was easy to spot, the driveway posted many No Trespassing and Private Property Signs. While the house sits waterfront, between the road and the house were some run down trailers with lots of debris. To access the property, we had to navigate around parked vehicles and machinery on poorly maintained dirt driveway. The property also sits next to some sort of working boat/junk yard. While the boat yard seemed to keep normal business hours it did create some noise and truck traffic driving next the house, down to the waterfront.
When we arrived home I contacted the property managers about our concerns but did not hear back from them.
