Close to Edwin Forsythe and Ocean City Rookery

As life can throw us curve balls, we needed a getaway. I looked for a quiet place close to the Nature places listed in the title to take pictures! This unit is very comfortable and has more of what you need than most places. Took a quick walk on the trails with the dog, very nice! I believe the black swans are the only two and are beautiful. We had a great meal at Oyster Creek, and there is a bakery in the Smithville shops.

Cute house, amazing view, directly on the lake ..very relaxing, we enjoyed our daily visit from the swans, muscovies and the family of geese--mom, dad, and 5 babies. There were fresh flowers waiting for us!Very nice and minutes from Smithville. We highly recommend!

Great place!

A very clean house and a great view of the lake. We were under the impression it was a bit more secluded and not part of a bigger community with houses not immediately near but it ended up being just fine. Interior of the house is wonderful. Only issue we had was that the ice dispenser in the refrigerator didn’t work which causes a minor inconvenience but again, not a big deal.

Pleasant/affordable in forest area

Very quiet. Had all the amenities, but not very cozy. Nice deck with patio furniture, but could not see much of the lake due to high frawns/foliage. Pleasant stay, Smithville a must see!

Getaway for solitude

Peaceful getaway

A spacious cottage with a large modern kitchen situated on a beautiful lake. Lots of wildlife including a pair of black swans. Quiet and relaxing, We had a great stay.

Nice quiet vacation

We really enjoyed our anniversary getaway to southern New Jersey. I picked this location as it was central to many of the towns we wanted to visit. The house was adorable, perfect for two people. The kitchen was great and everything was clean. Fireplace worked and the view of the lake was idyllic. Wish I would have known how close the other homes were to each other but we never saw anyone else while we were there. Owners do not restock any paper products after the initial stock so may want to bring paper towels with you. Also couldn’t find wash clothes and had to buy them before eventually finding them in the dryer. Internet connection is very poor but if you’re going to unplug this is great. Not ideal if trying to stream something to watch though. Overall a nice fall getaway.

Wonderful Get-away

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable. We had the best of both worlds with my husband being able to fish on the lake in the morning and evening and me being able to sit on the beach in the afternoon..a short drive away. Joy was super responsive and helpful. We also found lots of great GF food in the area, including a dedicated gluten-free bakery just a few minutes away. We plan to go back.

Alternative to stayijng at pricey AC hotels!

We wanted to go to a concert at Hard Rock but didn't want to pay the prices of the hotels on the boardwalk. I found this gem and will always book here instead of ...there! The house was so private! Very quiet and beautiful scenery. Everyone was super helpful, as we arrived an hour before check in time. There was an agent just passing by and was kind enough to ask if we wanted to hang out in the Club House until check-in. Yes! The only little complaint we have at all, is that there could have been detergent for the dish washer...that's it! Thank you, we'll be back!

Perfect for a peaceful quiet getaway

if your looking for a peaceful quiet getaway, this is an ideal place. The back deck is very private, and offers a wonderful view of the local wildlife. Everything from birds and chipmunks, to turtles, cranes and swans are there to welcome you every day. There's also a perfect view of the willow tree on it's own private island, which lights up beautifully every night. We will definitely come back again.

Lovely, Well Kept Property

We were surprised at how close the buildings are to each other and were concerned that would affect the privacy and quietness of our stay. The neighborhood ended up being incredibly quiet and even with the nearness of the other buildings we still enjoyed a quiet time. The building has some weird design choices - why is the towel rack on the far side of the bathroom, away from the shower? - but it's clean, well kept, and tastefully decorated. We didn't use the lake, but we walked around the bridge/pavilion and up the trails a bit - very glad we brought insect repellant as we had some ticks on our shoes afterwards.

this was the perfect spot to stay at. We were in town for a basketball tournament and did not want to stay at a hotel in Atlantic City. The house was perfect quiet clean the kitchen made it so much easier so we didn’t have to rush to find a restaurant end The distance from Atlantic City was just right the small little village in the shops made it so cute and enjoyable would definitely stay again.

We had an awesome time at this lovely Lake home! The view was spectacular and relaxing (definitely needed) but what's not to like when you wake up every day and it's sunny and you go out on your deck and have the water right there (well, a few feet away that is!) but still. Cannot wait to return to this property, as well as pet friendly ones through the same owner, as this will definitely be our "go to place!!" I've rented a lot of properties over the years in nearby areas including Brigantine and other shore places but nothing compares to this one, even though they were great too! Just PERFECT like the listing indicates!! The only "con" would be that previous renters left personal belongings there and kitchen cabinets/drawers weren't nicely organized (but I did do that); however, that is a reflection on the cleaning service used (as it was clean) and in NO way is that the owner's fault as she most likely was never made aware of these concerns. Joy was wonderful and we even extended our stay at the last minute (because we found coverage for us at work) - she was so accommodating - will definitely be back!! We enjoyed our stay...place was clean and looked just like the pictures. Be sure to purchase your own toiletries-less toilet paper. Looks like whatever toiletires they have there may have been left from previous guests-which is fine-but we already bought our own. Other than that we were at peace-no issues.

We took a long weekend away to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The house was clean and as described. Nice sized kitchen too which was great because we love to cook. The weather didn't really cooperate with us so we stayed in and enjoyed being in such a cozy place. Would absolutely stay here again.

I love the layout of the lake house and it's beautiful view of the lake literally that was our back yard. It was relaxing, peaceful and exactly what i needed to get away from the daily stressors. Early check in was available which was great. There was a book of instructions, food menus, and overall tips of the property which was very helpful. The cookware and dishes needed an update but with that scenic view and that tranquility everything else comes second. Had a great time. Other activities were close by. Would recommend to others looking to just unwind and disconnect from their busy lives.

Perfect get away. Only things we really noticed that could use improvement was the cobwebs in various areas of the house. The floors needed a good sweep overall. It (the cleaning) just seemed a little bit rushed. Otherwise, gorgeous view, friendly location, private and intimate. Would definitely come back and stay again.
