HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!
We strongly advise staying away from this host & home. We booked this home for my son's college fishing w/11 family members. The pictures looked incredible. After reading the reviews, I saw comments about flood damage to the home in May. I messaged the owner before booking, asking if these repairs would be complete before we arrived in mid-August; he replied they would be finished by July 3. Imagine our surprise when we arrived at the home, & the front entrance was under construction. The bottom floor had 1 bedroom entirely under construction & smelled like mildew & the bottom floor had yellow water stains & wood damage from flooding. Based on the conditions of this home, it was not safe to be rented. Also, the property was not just dirty; it was disgusting!!! The appliances had food on the outside, floors were filthy, dust and dirt on the baseboards, under the beds, in the middle of the floors, & hair in the showers and on the sheets (I took photos of everything). With a party of our size & the tournament for my son beginning the next morning, we had no choice but to clean it and make the home decent enough to sleep in, even washing the bed sheets! To make matters worse, there was a strong sewage smell. We asked the neighbors if there was a sewage issue in the area, and they said it was coming from our yard, & the owner was aware of the issue. It was COMPLETELY NOT AS PICTURED or described & was not worth the HEFTY price tag. Not worth staying in for FREE! Reported to VRBO.

Family Reunion
We had a great time! Renting the boat was convenient, the dock is very nice. The house overall was clean. The downside was there was working getting done due to a water issue at the front of the house that wasn’t reflected in the VRBO listing. This eliminated the use of a bedroom. Once this is fixed I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

A 4th of July to Remember
Four families- 8 adults, 8 children (ages 4-8) stayed at Glenn’s property for 4 nights. We also rented his boat for 3 days. Having 2 kitchens was great. Property is spacious and able to accommodate our large group. Glenn was a great host and quickly responded to questions. We would stay again!

Phenomenal Family Reunion
We had our best family reunion in many years and much of the success was due to the house, decks, yard, and boat dock! Glenn was terrific in communicating and addressing any questions immediately. We were extremely pleased with everything associated with our stay!!!

Perfect lake house for large groups
Stayed 5 nights - family reunion and celebrated the 60th anniversary of my In-laws. 6 couples, 6 young adults and 6 teens/children. We chose Lake Hartwell due to it’s central proximity to our dispersed family, and we chose this lake house due to it’s amenities and number of separate rooms. So much to do around the dock and in the water with kayaks, SUPs, floating “lily pad”; and we rented the pontoon boat for a few days of cruising fun. Everyone had such an amazing time - I can’t imagine a more amenity rich home than this one, and the full kitchen on 2 levels made it a breeze to store lot’s of food and for prep. We did have to pivot a bit with one bedroom closed due to recent water damage (see other recent comments), but Glenn, the owner, went out of his way to be very accommodating by moving furniture around to get us close to the original space. Glenn was very communicative and reasonable - always quick to reply with text or phone. Everyone in our group wanted to come back again next year!

Family reunion
We had our whole family together here for five days. There were parts that were under construction due to a recent storm, but the owner was very gracious and worked with us. The dock was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked. There were great sitting areas to spread out and relax. We enjoyed our stay.

It had a great dock and a lot of beds. However, according to VRBO’s standard, it is only a five bedroom house. While this may work for maybe three or four couples with a lot of kids, it will not serve 7 couples well. During our stay, one of the seven rooms described as a bedroom was unavailable due to the collapse of a foundation wall.

Highly Disappointed
We rented the host’s (Glenn) property on May 8 for 4 nights for our son’s graduation celebration from Clemson. Intense storms came through the first night. The next morning when we returned to the property around 11, the front part of the home under the porch had collapsed. There was no ground underneath the porch. We did not enter the home because we were concerned about its structural integrity. The lower level of the home was flooded because the foundation in the front of the house collapsed through an underground door in one of the bedrooms. Our belongings were soaked. We notified Glenn who sent the home builder to the property. The builder arrived a couple of hours later. He made an assessment and allowed us to enter the home to pack our belongings, except the front room next to the porch. He emptied that room for safety purposes. It took a few hours to pack as we waded through the flooded basement. We vacated the property that afternoon. Because the lower level and the front room of the home were unusable, we were unable to host our party of 25. For that reason, we had to return home (3 hrs away), canceling events planned in Clemson with the 17 other family members who were to arrive that evening. Given our stay was ruined, we were disappointed in how the transaction was ultimately settled by Glenn for the days we were unable to remain in the home. Although Glenn had no control over this act of nature, he is responsible for the manner he handled the transaction.

Work Vacation
I booked this with 22 friends mostly for a work vacation for 4 nights and we had an absolutely fantastic time! A storm came through the week before we got there and there was some rain damage to one of the rooms in the basement that couldn’t be fixed by the time of our stay, but the host Glenn did everything in his power to move beds and make sure we could all still fit since we had so many people! And even with that room closed we had PLENTY of space! We also rented his Bennington Tritoon for 3 days and it is such a nice boat! We had a blast and would recommend this place for anyone with a large family or group. Glenn was responsive, kind, fair, and made the check in/out process super simple.

A perfect family reunion
We were looking for a place for our entire family to get together for spring break and this home did not disappoint. There were 17 of us ranging from ages 11 to 83 and everyone had places to sleep and places to hang out. And as a family that likes to cook, we were in love with both the indoor and outdoor set ups….more toys than any chef could wish for. Lastly, the lake was an amazing activity focal point. We took advantage of the pontoon for everything from sunset cruising to tubing, and the kids loved the kayaks and SUPs. Great to have the kids off their screens. Overall, a perfect vacation.

Gorgeous property for friends and family!!!
This is perfect property for gathering friends and family. We had 8 adults and 3 10 yr olds in our group and had a fantastic stay. Everyone loved the space fiving everyone their own private room and bathroom. The house is stocked up with anything and everything you could possibly need. Everyone was wishing we could stay longer...even though it was December and too cold to get into lake activities. We will definitely be looking to return in the summer.

Wonderful family vacation
We really enjoyed our time here. The house is beautiful and well stocked. The kids loved the dock and everyone enjoyed having access to the boat. It was perfect for multiple families. The host was very attentive and made us feel welcome. Everyone in our group had a great time.

Wow, what a great stay
The house was large and spacious. Everything was clean and new. The water at the dock is deep and the cove is well protected, great for swimming or floating near the dock. We had 18 people and there was room for more. Having 2 kitchens made everything very accessible whether you were upstairs or down. We didn't use the outdoor grills, but there were several to choose from. The location is great. It is close to Anderson with two grocery stores within 10 minutes. Our host, Glenn, was very communicative and available if we had questions.

Lake Hartwell vacation
Wonderful home with a few things left to be done as it was just completed. Great dock.. the children all enjoyed the water and everyone enjoyed the boat rental. We will defininitly consider staying there for our next year's vacation.

Excellent Home on Lake Hartwell
Our family has been vacationing together for the last 24 years. This was our first year on Lake Hartwell and we were not disappointed. Glenn and Donna were amazing hosts and even offered to pick my family up from the nearby airport! The place was literally brand new and in great shape. One bummer was the stove in the kitchen was not working because of a missing piece that had not arrived in time. Fortunately, there is an entire second kitchen on the lower level. An outdoor kitchen was in the process of being built and not completed, but we made great use of the digital Traeger Smoker, which produced an amazing pork butt. One of the biggest highlights for our family was the boat dock. This was brand new and one of the best docks we have ever seen. Very well laid out and could easily accommodate our wake boat and two additional jet skis. The water depth at the end of the dock was over 20 feet deep and we spent the majority of the week in the water around the dock. Excellent experience! Thank you Glenn and Donna!!

Great hosts and a beautiful home in a good location
Glenn and Donna were excellent hosts for this property. We enjoyed the modern, new construction with dual kitchens and every appliance you can imagine. Our favorite was the awesome dock and excellent, protected swim area with clean, deep water. Good parking for multiple vehicles. We will be back!
