Our group stayed for 5 nights for an Alyeska ski trip in February. The house is less than a 5 minute walk to the resort and fit all 9 of us comfortably. We appreciated its location and design, however the communication and stocking of the house by Vacasa was a huge letdown and is driving the 3 star rating. Unfortunately, they only give you the bare minimum for supplies when checking in. This made us have to go to the store to buy everything we needed to clean the house and extra bath supplies. The propane was also left empty upon arrival and required us to refill it (Vacasa did reimburse us). The biggest letdown was the communication with Vacasa which requires you to receive multiple automated replies to finally be connected to someone with their local property management. This was frustrating to communicate the propane issue and even more frustrating when we tried to figure out where we needed to store our trash. Since the garage area is locked (which isn’t specified in the listing) we had to deal with trash piling up in bags in the house all week since we didn’t feel comfortable leaving trash outside due to bear risk. We tried communicating with Vacasa multiple times (it’s not in the welcome book) and never received a response. Ultimately we had to take it ourselves on Friday to the transfer station which is only open limited days. It’s a great house, but be prepared for frustration if you need to communicate with property management. I’ll avoid Vacasa stays in the future.
