This is a lovely, quiet and relaxing property. And true to the other reviews, the owners are warm, inviting, and friendly. The view is exceptional from the upper deck as well as the lower porch. Our mini-Aussies especially enjoyed their "look out" from the upper deck.
Pros: comfortable bed & furniture; dual fuel range/oven that cooked perfectly; 12 cup coffee maker; general kitchen necessities furnished.
Con: the climb to the property. Worth it, but some may find it opposing.
Things you should know before you go: (1) The road continually climbs, and the driveway itself is approximately an 11 degree incline at the start, followed by two very tight turns and an approximately 13 degree incline to the cabin. (2) You'll pull up to a garage door; that's the back of the cabin. Use the walkway to the right of the building and go around to the front door. (3) You won't receive check-in instructions from VRBO. The cabin is managed by a rental agency in Cloudcroft, and they will call you. You'll need to drive all the way into town to pick up keys and receipt, etc. (4) Take distilled/bottled water for the coffee pot, as you can't use the local water for coffee/tea. (5) If you're a serious cook, like me, take your own knives, cutting board, and pots/pans. The kitchen is stocked with 'general' cookware. (6) If you're into pizza and craft beer, don't miss Cloudcroft Brewing company. There's generally a 10 to 20 minute wait. It's worth every second! (7) Be sure to talk with Marylou and Joe, they're precious folks!
