For those that would enjoy some fishing. The catch and release pond at the Pine Tree A-Frame Retreat is fully stocked with Brim, Bass, and Carp. While we’ve created a serene and picturesque environment around our private spring-fed fishing pond, we want to make sure you’re well-prepared. Golf
Limestone Springs Golf Club Located less than ten miles from the Pine Tree A-Frame Retreat, this 18 hole championship golf course is nestled throughout 225 acres of the Appalachain Mountains and offers some of the most dramatic elevations and picturesque views in the state. Designed by former U.S. Open winner Jerry Pate it stretches almost 7000 yards from the back tees. This course is ranked one of the top five coures in the state of Alabama by GolfWeek.
Heritage Golf Course Located less than six miles from the Pine Tree A-Frame Retreat, this 18-hole golf course is also nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains creating a splendid visual experience. It's diverse course design features sculptured fairways, dramatic rock formations and impeccable Champion Bermuda greens. This course is also home to the Heritage Clubhouse, a beautiful three-story 12,000' Clubhouse overlooking the stunning 18--hole Heritage Golf course and ponds. You can even order lunch at the 8th hole!
Pin Seekers Located six miles from the Pine Tree A-Frame Retreat, this state-of-the-art family oriented facility is a great place to enjoy the highest level of virtual golf in the state. Using Simulator technology, you can choose from over 200 virtual courses including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, while also analyzing your swing and tracking your progress. There are also several arcade-style golf games to choose from for all ages to enjoy. Pin Seekers also displays multiple large screen TVs for watching the big game and has a food and drink menu if you want a snack!
Blount County Covered Bridges: The Pine Tree A-Frame retreat is located less than seven miles away from key landmarks such as the Easley, Horton Mill, and Swann covered bridges which hosts year round visitors. Every fall in mid October, there is a Covered Bridge Festival held in downtown Oneonta Alabama and Pine Tree is conveniently centered between all three of these historical sites.
Pine Tree also has multiple state parks, waterfalls, fun public facilities close by.
Hiking
Pallasades Park Located less than 5 minutes from the Pine Tree A-Frame Retreat, you can enjoy multiple hiking trails, incredible views, large gathering areas, and an amazing play ground. Be sure to take a moment and visit Meditation point, a tourist favorite. This park is Dog Friendly (on a leash) and has public restrooms.
Duck River Trail Located less than 30 minutes from the Pine Tree A-Frame Retreat, this beautiful reserve has lots of options for the entire family to enjoy. There are approximately 20 miles of trails to hike, bike, or mountain bike. You can also do some kayaking or fishing. This park is Dog friendly (on a leash) and has public restrooms.
Water Falls:
Mardi Falls, Cornelius Falls, and Nectar Falls are all less than 10 miles from the retreat and provide a great place to hike, fish, or take some family pictures. If you're feeling truly adventurous, Grace High Falls is only an hour and thirty minute drive from the Retreat and it is the largest waterfall in the state of Alabama.
Public Facilties
Water Parks/Pools:
Spring Valley Beach is a multi level water slide facility located only twelve miles from the Retreat. This family freindly place has a variety of water slides for every level of bravery and is definitely one of the areas most popular attractions.
Oneonta Aquatics Facility is located just south of downtown Oneonta and is less than ten minutes from the Retreat. You can lounge poolside or enjoy the large slide. Either way, this is a great place to cool off with the family.
WildWater Cullman is another water park located about 35 minutes from the Retreat. This large facility has multiple water slides and its very own beach! You can take a tube down the slides or just relax and float the day away. Fun place for a day drip!
Sport/Family Oriented:
Woodland Park
In fact, Pine Tree is an hour and thirty minute drive from Grace High Falls, the largest waterfall in the state of Alabama. Blount county hosts a variety of fall events from pumkin patch dashes and sleigh rides to the annual covered bridge festival held every year in mid October. Spring hosts a June Fling event in our down town disctrict and in addition, on the first Saturday of each month, the streets of downtown line up with Classic muscle cars and trucks for all to appreciate. Oneonta Alabama is also about to become home to a new Sports Complex that has over 60,000 sq ft of fun activities for all including basketball, volleyball, pickball, and soccer. Right next door in Cleveland Alabama, there will be a new agricultural center, the Alabama Cooperative Extension Center. This venue will host advanced agricultural classrooms for students in Blount County, an arena for rodeos, horse and cattle shows, and the Blount County Fair.
Oneonta Alabama even has an indoor Golf center, Pin Seekers, a family friendly year round facility. Oneonta Alabama is withing Blount County, which hosts such events as the Covered Bridge Festival helf every year in mid October, June Fling held annually every May. The first Saturday of each month downtown Oneonta will bring a showcase of old muscle cars that will line up the streets. The fall is magical as well. There are several pumpkin patches within the county and you can enjoy the Chandler Mountain and Locust Fork Blountsville Harvest Fest. This annual Harvest Festival will feature arts and crafts, food, vintage tractors and more!
